My name is John Glock. I live in the USA. The one near the Gulf of Mexico, not the Gulf of America. I’m an artist, writer, and educated overthinker. Even earned a BA in Philosophy for street cred.

My primary medium is pen & ink, although most of my work here is done on an iPad with Procreate. Same techniques and vision, but with the freedom that digital artistry can give you.

Codefreespirit has been lurking on the internets since 2000, but mostly as a hobby. 25 years later, I’m finally able to give my creative life the chance it deserves. Join me in making a creative living possible.

I thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy my work.

Choose your own adventure

The kindly, old man behind the Codefreespirit guild counter eyes you up and down. “You don’t look like the typical art buyer come to window shop my wares. No, there’s a gleam in your eye that tells me you want to support creativity in this withering world. Maybe you just like being a part of something interesting and helping it grow. Or maybe you just want some sly discounts on the goods! Whatever it is, I can tell you’ve got the spirit to join my circle - the magical, the mystical, The O!” (It’s supposed to be a circle, work with me here.)

He lays out a scroll before you listing the perks of joining The O. He looks you dead in the eye and says, “Yes, it’ll cost you to be a part of The O, but depending on what kind of member you are, you’ll more than reap the benefits. BUT be aware, the class you choose to subscribe to is non-refundable. No ifs, ands, or buts. Choose wisely. Choose well.”

The old man’s scroll lists the following perks of becoming a member of The O.

  • Get access to all the newest downloads and full access to download my entire back catalog.

  • You’ll get access to the member store where I discount prints and merchandise up to 25% off. You’ll also be first up to receive any special pricing on my products.

  • Members pay for shipping charges only. Never the handling and packaging fees.

  • When I do shows, I’ll be making limited-run, archival, signed prints of my work. As a member, you get privileged access to these runs a month before they wind up in the public store.

  • I like to draw smaller pen & ink illustrations. You’ll be able to enter fun (possibly even silly) contests to win one of a kind artwork.

  • Members can keep up with activities in the updates section, and plumb the deepest darkest recesses of my creative mind in my creative journal.

“I haven’t got all day,” the old man says, “what class of art supporter are you?”

The O - The Monthly Rogue
$50.00
Every month

You came, you saw, you grabbed everything that wasn't nailed down, and left heading on to your next score. No need for the long term, the rogue gets all the perks for the lowest entry fee, but the highest per month charge. Make sure you cancel before the next month or you'll be stuck in what seems like a practically criminal rate (it's not, I asked my lawyer. All subscriptions are non-refundable.)

The O - The Seasonal Bard
$90.00
Every 6 months

You have great taste in all the finery the arts have to offer, but your fancy is carried on the wind and when it changes you must move on. While you're too capricious to get the lowest per month price, you are wise to support the kindly circle master and stay around long enough to see the next spectacle coming over the horizon without bankrupting your coin purse. (Save $35/month compared to the Rogue. All subscriptions are non-refundable.)

The O - The Annual Wizard
$100.00
Every year

You've mastered the wizened ways of bookkeeping, and understand by taking the long road, you get nearly double the benefit of the Bard. Perched within your ebony tower, you'll enjoy all the new offerings the circle master has to offer while providing the most support to the kindly old man running this place. The savings are magical. (Saves $6.67/month over the Bard for twice the amount of time. All subscriptions are non-refundable.)

The Eternal Dream Tarot

Featured Extra

I created The Eternal Dream Tarot in 2001 hoping to produce a deck that didn’t require a reference book to give your readings meaning. It was one of the first decks inducted into the Museo Dei Tarrochi (Museum of Tarots) in Italy. It remains my best known work thus far.
